Pros
Boom Supersonic is the best hardware/aerospace startup to work for in Colorado. Colorado is one of the best states to live in, I can't say enough positive things about working here.
Boom has highly motivated employees, everyone has tons of passion for the product, and everyone is bought in 100%. There are generous perks: essentially unlimited vacation, lunch and snacks provided for employees, and a casual dress code. Unlimited La Croix too. There is transparency throughout the company top-to-bottom - for instance monthly AMAs with the leadership team, and they are disappointed if employees aren't asking difficult questions. Boom's goal is ambitious, the work is hard, but I wouldn't want to be working anywhere else.
Living and working in Denver is unreal - easy access to world class hiking, camping, climbing, and skiing, great food and awesome beer. I still can't get used to how insanely nice the weather is every day. Denver is growing but has minimal sprawl compared to West/East coast cities, easy to escape into the mountains and avoid the crowds.
Cons
The company has grown over 100% every year so far, continuing to maintain an inclusive and consistent culture across the company is difficult and something that everyone is aware needs to be addressed. This won't go away soon as we will continue to grow for a long time.
The work is challenging and time consuming in every position - if you're looking for a 40 hour work week this likely isn't a great fit, not really a con but something to be aware of when considering applying.
Working at a growing startup like Boom means there are poorly defined roles and responsibilities. Everyone's roles are much more broad than a traditional company. This can be a challenge if you thrive in a structured environment, and there can be frustration trying to drive a project to completion without clear decision makers.
