Pros

There is a good rapport between the team members. Many dedicated and hard working staff. Good team working atmosphere. Nice instruments to work on and a varied customer base.

Cons

The corporate culture has now changed to the worst case of spreadsheet management, allied with a culture of rapid promotion for individuals that exhibit the highest psychopathic tendencies. The HR department give a superficial front of caring, but underneath don't care less. Any employee that stays in the same job for more than 4 years is viewed as "a dinosaur", or "lacking any real ambition". Staff levels cannot be increased without it being signed for, in blood, in triplicate, by faceless managers on another continent, until that is you leave, having been driven to ill health, then it happens immediately.... The overall shift in staff numbers is downward, with experienced staff leaving and many not replaced. That is despite strong sales. The remaining technical staff are overworked. Do not expect to have a home life if you take a job here.

Pros

Get to work with some hi-tech products, opportunity to schedule own work within reason. Occasionally fun and if you have a brain you can learn a lot.

Cons

If you join Bruker don’t expect a pay rise anytime soon, regularly management say it’s been a tough year and each year we installed more than last. A scientist would describe the career opportunities at Bruker as “a non-event rest mass with a quantum probability of zero”. Management and customers expect you to behave like an electron and be in two places at the same time. There is unfair pressure on employee’s to get installations accepted by a date whatever the cost, leading to long hours for the employee and poorer quality. Trying to get parts is now a joke, we used to get parts with in 1 or 2 days now it can be weeks.
