Pros

The pets and their owners are so cute and sweet

Cons

BuckheadPaws displays inappropriate and unprofessional behavior, which has left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. The Manager unexpectedly showed up at my residence without prior notice or invitation. Keep in mind I live in a gated community and had been messaging them only 20 minutes prior. This intrusion into my personal space was highly inappropriate and made me feel violated. To make matters worse, shortly after this incident, I discovered that my boss had sent derogatory statements about my appearance to the team group chat. BuckheadPaws runs on retaliation or any form of victim-blaming within the organization. Such actions are not only disrespectful but it also created a hostile work environment, impacting my ability to perform my duties effectively. I want to emphasize that I strongly believe in maintaining a professional relationship with my colleagues and superiors. However, this incident has crossed a boundary that cannot be ignored. If Buckhead Paws actually ran as a legitimate organization they would offer employees an HR department for maintaining their unprofessional management. It is crucial to address such inappropriate behavior promptly to ensure a healthy and respectful work environment for all employees.

Pros

The dogs, the clients, and the theoretical ability to dictate your own schedule.

Cons

I regret my time working for this dog walking company due to its complete lack of professionalism, poor communication, and toxic workplace culture. From the outset, the company claims they are responsible for managing clients, but mid-conversation, they often shift the responsibility onto you. This back-and-forth creates confusion and leads to complicated situations with clients, as there are no clear guidelines or proper delineation of who is actually responsible for managing their needs. The result is constant miscommunication and frustration. While they promote a "family-like" culture, it’s nothing more than a façade. They force mandatory team-building events that are socially awkward and unproductive, and fail to reimburse you for expenses like gas. The pay is insufficient to even cover these basic costs, making these events feel more like a forced obligation than genuine bonding opportunities. The company's approach to "teamwork" is unprofessional and reveals their lack of respect for employees' time and effort. Despite classifying us as W-2 employees, the company treats us as if we are on-call contractors. We are paid per visit, but expected to be available 24/7 for messages, client concerns, and last-minute scheduling changes. This expectation comes with no compensation for time spent outside of scheduled visits, and if you don’t respond promptly, you're reprimanded and made to feel guilty for not being a "team player." It’s an unreasonable and exploitative work structure that disregards personal boundaries and undermines any concept of work-life balance. The owner is sarcastic, dismissive, and unprofessional in every interaction. Their lack of empathy and leadership only contributes to the toxic atmosphere. The company seems to prioritize profit over employee well-being, showing little regard for safety or support when issues arise. Instead of addressing concerns or offering help, they guilt-trip you, framing you as a "bad worker" if you don’t meet their constantly shifting expectations. In conclusion, this company is a poorly managed, exploitative environment that lacks clear communication, respect for boundaries, and fair treatment. If you’re looking for a job that offers structure, professionalism, and genuine care for its employees, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
