    Pros

I have been working for BuzzMyVideos for 2 years. Firstly as a part time employee then as full time. In my experience i have only found the management and the team to be very helpful and encouraging. They have supported me from day one. There is always someone willing to listen to any new ideas or suggestions that a team member may have. The management are totally approachable and very good at motivating the team. There are regular meetings in which opportunity arises to voice any issues that anyone maybe experiencing. The company has grown and developed enormously since it started, constantly introducing new ideas and skills to help to developers get more from their work. I have nothing but admiration for the directors they put in all their time and energy to create a professionally run business which for me is a pleasure to work for.

    Cons

    Nothing i can think of!

    Pros

Great environment in a buzzing Start-up!

    Pros

With the company being a start-up it gives you the opportunity to learn different areas of the company outside just your day to day role. This is obviously great to learn new skills and broaden your knowledge. Because the company is so small you do develop much better relationships with everyone else and it brings a wide variety of different interests, cultures and everyone gets along well.It makes for a great social team which both of my previous work places lacked. Your performance is key and it's certainly noticeable in a company of this size. This can obviously be a good and bad thing. Good individual performance is celebrated however some times work can be slow and this will also be noticeable too. Good environment and great people working with a common interest in a growing and exciting industry.

    Cons

The start-up aspect of the company means that workload can vary. You have good weeks and you have bad / slow weeks and as mentioned performance is noticeable on an individual level. Sometimes you can feel like nothing is going your way which can be frustrating especially in certain tougher markets in the industry. Even if you're not finding immediate success however you are noticed for trying.

    The Dream Workplace.

    Pros

BuzzMyVideos is the dream workplace. Everyday you have the chance to work with talented, passionate and motivated people. It's not a sterile working environment, it's a beautiful place that makes you grow as human being and as a professional. It doesn't matter how stressful the day can be, I always get out of the office with a smile on my face.

    Cons

In a startup you have to be multitasking. While for someone this can be a down side, for me is a great opportunity to learn more and more every day and to strengthen my skills.

    The perfect working environment

    Pros

The relationship between all the co-workers is like being surrounded by very professional friends, you can count on each other, for any doubts you may have. Working with creative people is always a plus for me, and I always know they have my back, and I've got theirs.

    Cons

Some days can be a bit slow and others really packed, and you always need to multitask and move around, but with such a good team, it's not bad at all.

Floating in the overabundance of YouTube networks

    Pros

Useful if you want to understand better how YouTube works. They are part of the TechHub co-working space which is fun. Quite laid-back atmosphere, with no pressure whatsoever.

    Cons

The business model is terrible. Creators are all frustrated and want to leave. No vision and very confused ideas on how to create value. Some mid-management levels are totally unnecessary. They are incredibly reluctant to change and keep on following other MCNs mistakes. There is no innovative mindset in the company, but it seems it goes on by inertia. Very bureaucratic for being a startup.

Lots of potential wasted due to bad management

    Pros

When I joined the company I was pleasantly surprised by the positive thinking and desire to work as a team. The company culture is presented as "no politics, everyone has hands in everything". The Founders presented themselves at my interviews as "there to serve others". Some people really goes out of their way to do the best they can, oftentime using their own personal time to bring that 120% on the table.

    Cons

Unfortunately the reality of things is much different from the promise. A huge part of the company is made by people that does the minimum necessary or doesn't know what they're doing and don't care to improve or have different ideas from the company's priority and thus basically work for themselves. The "no politics" is only on paper and what really means is that the founders don't want to know about it but don't do anything actively to discourage it. The don't establish a clear line of hierarchy but have some people being clearly their "counselors". You are not helped in takeing initiative apart from speeches in which they tell you that "you should take initiatives". If any of your initiatives actually bring something good to the company, you're not rewarded nor economically neither in terms of career. The company has gone through a bad time in terms of middle-management recruited over the last two years and this can only be blamed on the founders. A couple of bad people can happen to pass the interviews. Everyone in key positions for two years should not happens. Especially when there are very good professional that distinguish themselves every other day and are not scared to takes more responsabilities. On top of that, the direction of the company feels like total chaos. One quarter the target is "producing content", the next is to "bring value to B2C" strategy, the next one is "screw B2C, let's focus on B2B approach". Ideas that are being transformed into MVP range from stale or nothing that would be going to "set the pace" on their market to "we read about this online and we like the buzzwords". The business plan seems like "let's throw everything on the wall and see what sticks".

    It's not a company, it's a social experiment

17 Apr 2016 - Chief Executive Officer in London, England, England

    Pros

In the past, a bit of flexibility. This has now ended since in one of their monthly ego-stroking meetings a powerpoint slide announced that working times are 9-6, at the office, and any exception must be previously approved by "your line manager" (talk about being treated like a factory worker from the 19th Century).

    Cons

If you like having your intelligence underestimated (or unseen at all), believe you deserve 2 years of entry-level salary as if you were an unskilled call centre operator "because you're helping out a startup" (although they keep buying unnecessary stuff and hiring for more and more complex organogram positions, as if they already were IBM or Google, with money they're unable to generate with their business model and client portfolio), and find motivation in being managed by insecure control-freaks who are afraid of posting an Instagram picture before creating a workstream spreadsheet for its approval, this is the place for you. But it's an especially ideal company if you enjoy dystopic society sci-fi: you will constantly be asking yourself if this is really happening, and will start looking for the hidden cameras, convinced it's actually a scientific/social experiment to see how people react in bizarre, extreme situations. Although the "benefit" highlight in their own job postings reads "you'll be given the opportunity to work as a human, alongside other humans" (!!), the best definition of work there is "You will try to convince youtubers to give us a percentage of their revenue for no reason whatsoever", as the product is inexistent and any attempt at "adding value" comes in the form of a solution that has proven to fail with other YouTube Networks, or to have been invented already (aka: Facebook Messenger), making it very frustrating to the tech team, on top of all the unnecessary flow-clogging bureaucracy (again: spreadsheets with instructions on how to fill out spreadsheets and insecurity about changing or challenging anything; plastered, slow pace). This company is so desperate that they took in one of the worst and most openly disliked youtubers ever as one of their main clients, even after he was banned from his previous network for increasingly tasteless and more offensive content. Hiring and promotions (when existent at all) seem to happen for the weirdest reasons other than merit, skills, previous experience or leadership capacity. Another "con": High turnover: 9 employees quit in 10 months, half of them choosing unemployment. Only waste your time if you're a deluded overaged career Pollyanna who believes the misinformed, long-outdated tale that this YouTube Network (or any, for the matter) is the future of online content, and that you are offering your clients "a vibrant international community of creators" (reality: all of them are dissatisfied and desperate to leave but are locked in by wittily crafted contracts). Zero chances of being promoted or having a career.

Regretted joining within the first 3 months

    Pros

TechHub office, workmates, and free time for job search (almost all of us were actively looking)

    Cons

Their company strategy is nonexistent, it changes every time there is a board meeting and someone gives the founders any suggestion, regardless of it being feasible or making sense. They are desperately trying to find funds and will go to great lengths to tell potential investors what they want to hear. Friction between the founders is high and the office atmosphere is tense. *We were encouraged to write positive reviews about the company
