Pros
Free accommodation and food, but the food gave me poisoning on numerous occasions and the accommodation is awful.
Cons
1. Racially abused my staff on a regular basis. When I complained ( to another manager because my line manager wouldn’t respond to me) I was told I had to ‘figure out ways to deal with it’ and I should ‘try journaling’. 2. I wasn’t at any point given a stable place of accomodation. I was told I would have access to a kitchen but it was so disgusting I couldn’t stand in there for longer than a minute without feeling sick. 3. The work culture is absolutely awful. The staff, head of boarding and principal provide literally no support whatsoever even after extreme and troubling events. Your safety and welfare is not on anyone’s mind whatsoever. 4. I had to make so many calls to even be paid properly, and when I fell ill due to work, I had to go through a lengthy procedure to get sick pay
