Stepping stone workplace

Pros

The biggest pro this company has going for it is that the medical benefits are EXTREMELY cheap. Considering today's political and insurance climate, you honestly will have a hard time finding cheaper benefits. The vacation & sick days given to you are pretty good as well, though other companies may over more and also give you work from home opportunities. However, even though you have plenty of personal days to use, there are only certain ways you can use them (you can't take off more than 5 business days in a row without pernission.) Other than that, the cons very much outweigh the pros. From personal experience and being a current employee here, I know that they have asked current employees to write good reviews for this company so that there were not many bad reviews (hence the disgruntled former employee comment in one of the reviews.)

Cons

The biggest challenge at this company is the fact that there is no communication. Managers do not communicate with employees until it is convenient for them. They will put you on accounts and then give those accounts to other people without proper training or explanation. The pay at this company is not competitive with other companies out there at all. This company is great if you are trying to get some real world working experience. It is stepping stone company that you can use to get experience and move on to further benefit your career. Employees don't stay here for more than two years at most, and those who do are generally miserable.

Traumatizing

Pros

Health care is affordable with two plan options.

Cons

Please don’t ever work here. It started off a great place to work, but the more knowledgeable you are, the harder your life is. Management is manipulative, you are simply a number to them. After months of expressing the issues of favoritism, unprofessionalism, burn out, heavy work lord, poor moral, to upper management, nothing seemed to change. When I finally made the decision to leave, they begged me with every promotion/raise in the book. I wouldn’t have stayed there for a million dollars. Just consider your options before starting here.

Pros

Will be belittled, disrespected, worked to a breaking point and receive below Pittsburgh average salary across any position at the company. But if you’re lucky they will offer you a $25.00 Starbucks gift card to come on Glassdoor.com to write a great review for them. As well as on some days during the summer, (nice weather days) you get the chance to smell strong alcohol on senior managers after their lunch break and or “managers meetings”.

Cons

Below average pay for most if not all positions in the company. Continued pressure to work harder while managers have no clue as to what the work load their floor associates have. Repeated bar visits during lunch breaks of VP’s and senior managers. Returning to work stumbling and swaying down the halls. Smelling very strongly of alcohol to only close them selfs behind their office doors to sober up. CEO is currently aware of this as they are often the last one to stumble back in the office with the others. Afternoon Pirate games are attended by managers to sometimes never return back to the office or returned like the above mentioned inebriated. Who do you turn to when all upper managers are in the same “high school click” ?
