Pros

Hmm. Can't think of any.

Cons

This was my first job in the field of substance abuse counseling. After providing group therapy coverage for several months, I interviewed for, and was offered the position of behavioral health provider. I expressed to my supervisor during the interview that I may not be qualified for the position. This did not concern her. Anyway, I was thrown to the wolves, given no training, given no instruction for how to go about my job. My quality of work was nitpicked and unappreciated by my arrogant, uncaring supervisor. Basically I had to teach myself how to be a drug counselor because the management is so incompetent, self involved and uncaring that they will not even show you how to do your work.. which is incredibly important and affects addicts' lives. I quit this job because it was going nowhere, only getting worse as discharge summaries piled up and my responsibilities grew and my caseload increased. For what? 14 dollars an hour? What a joke. I was so unappreciated by staff and clients alike, when the work was to GET PEOPLE SOBER. On a daily basis I was told to figure it out. Found myself in DANGEROUS and DEADLY situations such as clients threatening me, ONLY to be told by my supervisor, oh we can't discharge him.

Pros

They had a potluck once a month, they never bought us food themselves, but they would allow us to bring food in ourselves for an hour during the day.

Cons

First of all, in a meeting the (very strange and poor planning) CEO let it slip that every CODA location has a clause in the contract that states they are able to leave a lease with no repercussions if Obamacare ever gets repealed. Seems to indicate a poor future with the company. They are opening a ritzy location on the coast (which all of the upper management are already vying for) instead of fixing the glaring problems they are already drowning under.

financial issues makes this a precarious employment experience. CEO hired his wife (who is not qualified for her position). Just bad place to work.
