Pros

Diversity - Working with diverse people in the community and the office Growth - Company is growing and continuously training site staff to better help the people we serve. Flexible - Management team is patient and flexible Focused - The company is focused on the people we serve. They help us learn how to work with each other and those in the community offering training on Trauma Informed and Person Centered Care. This has even proven helpful in my personal life. Benefits - Health and Dental coverage are always a PRO. Work Life Balance - In contrast with other companies I have worked for, CPES has been great about balancing out career and personal life, allowing for time to actually take earned vacations and holidays. I really appreciate being able to be home for dinner with my husband.

Cons

Communication - Not a Con - but a room to grow area. Communication is not always timely or unfiltered which allows the "negative nancies" in the office create their own information to "fill in the blanks" Feedback/Performance Reviews- we are so busy and focused on getting our jobs done that we don't often receive feedback unless we have issues to correct. Timely feedback, good or bad would be helpful.

Pros

A lot of the staff cared about the kids we served, many did not. I learned a lot about myself during this job and truly felt fulfilled many days when coming home from work because I felt that I made a difference.

Cons

Worked in Flagstaff at the group home 'Homestead North'. While I worked there I was severely understaffed, the ratio of clients to staff was not legal, and the methods of managing behaviors were NOT PBS based 9 times out of 10. Many people on staff more worried about trying to find fault in other employees than doing their job and helping these poor children.

Too much too fast

Pros

You get to help people help them selves, if you pay attention you can move up quickly.

Cons

Management have poor boundaries and tend to pry into personal business. Because there is not enough funding from the state, they are taking away from the employees and putting most of the stress on the site managers. High staff turn over, and under staffed at all sites
