Use only as a stepping stone

Pros

Lord. There is nothing good about this company. Beware of 5 star reviews, they are fake and posted by the company. You will make a few good friends along the way, but that’s about it. It’s also a good stepping stone if you have no prior experience! Work for a few months then leave for better opportunities

Cons

-it’s a scam from beginning to end. When I was hired I was told that there are a lot of “growth” opportunities, 4 months in and you realize there is no such thing. -they have no plans for raise, or career growth for their employees -your manager will gaslight you whenever you bring up a problem -unrealistic deadlines and overwhelming workload -slave contracts -company does not value quality, and forces you to compromise your morals and values in favour of selling high number of courses to students -no proper support, everything is archaic -lack of transparency and the managers and coordinators often lie to you -no staff party or lunch (truly miserable place) -employees are no valued and are treated as discardable and temporary -the abuse—both emotional and psychological is off the roof -when you have meetings with them to discuss your struggles you are dismissed and are told that you are “unable to manage your workload” -They rarely will find a replacement for colleagues that quit or were let go. Hence their workload becomes yours -will often ask for “favours” and ask you to do tasks outside your job description -The company reeks of corruption and coverup and is super sketchy -have an exit strategy ready in case they let go of you -the blame culture will eat you alive!! If they can blame you for a mistake they will do it -HR posts fake positive reviews on Google and mass report negative reviews about CDI

Pros

Many people employed in the company within the entry level to associate/mid-level are kind and pleasant for the most part. The HR/TA team specifically were great at the time till there was a change in executive leadership within the department in the spring. Coworkers at the same level were amazing and supportive, but are no longer there by the time I left.

Cons

Senior management likes to cut corners when it comes to pay for all wages across the country (head offices AND campus roles). For the work that is given to employees, the compensation does not fit. There is no actual strategic compensation plan put in place for the organization and its subsidiaries, therefore are very behind with the market standard. There are also many WorkSafe issues surrounding bullying/harassment and how offices/campuses are not following COVID protocols specific to its region. Employees are pushed to come into the office despite the rising numbers of COVID cases. Within the HR team, the majority of the work at an associate to mid level role consists of administration and paperwork. HR does not have a huge voice when it comes to developing better practices and support options for the employees. Senior level HR management are swamped with inquiries from all sides in the company. Most inquiries are to fix issues at the surface level rather than diving into the core issues at hand. To add to the cons, employees are also "rewarded" when adding a positive review to the company's page. Do not believe the positive reviews.
