Pros
CareLinx is a good way to find a caregiving job. They provide insurance for the caregivers and do the payroll. The caregivers can receive more pay than working through an agency, and work directly with the families (the family is the employer).
Cons
Not sure if the families are screened very much before the job is posted. Social security and Medicare are taken out of your paycheck, but not federal and state taxes. Also, CareLinx works with a payroll company, and the family is the employer, so be aware that the payroll company will give the family your social security number, home address, e-mail address, and the family will see your W-2. This was not clear on the website when I applied with the company. So if you don't want the families to have all of your personal information, this is not the company to work for.
