Pros

Stress can help you lose weight.

Cons

The co-founders play Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, and while they are nowhere near as competent (or at all to be honest) in developing products and running a company, they try to make up for it through toxicity and micromanagement. Coding standards and best practices are not followed; they get out of their way to avoid anything remotely sane. They demand you work all the time but fail to motivate you even the tiniest bit. Some developers, including higher-ups, lack knowledge or understanding of some of the most fundamental coding concepts.

Some smart, decent and dedicated people - sadly that doesn't include the founders.

Hire and Fire mentality. An oversold product that is at best a "nice to have".

I will be handing my resignation Letter soon so I have no reason to lie. Here is the honest truth that you should verify with people who have been at this company before. Investors dont want to touch this company. They raised too much money and their revenue is nowhere close to justify. They cant hire any smart people with relevant experience No one on the executive team has ever worked in life sci - they dont know what they are doing 1-2 companies make up most of their revenue - it took them a decade They fire employees for illegal reasons (too many to state) Leadership team is constantly skirting the truth and lying to its employees internal politics are through the roof what they are building now, perplexity, Chatgpt and claude had a year ago ceo has an inferiority complex. coo repeats what ceo says. all a massive echo chamber of crap

Thank you for sharing this, even if we find much of it difficult to recognise as an accurate reflection of who we are. We take all feedback seriously, including feedback that's hard to read. If your experience here has left you feeling this way after three to four years, that matters to us, and we're genuinely sorry it's ended on this note. Where we'd respectfully push back is on some of the more serious characterisations, particularly around how we treat people and how we operate as a leadership team. These don't reflect our values or our conduct, and we wouldn't feel right letting them stand without saying so. What we will take seriously is the underlying signal. When someone who has been with a company for this long leaves feeling this disillusioned, there's something worth reflecting on, regardless of where we disagree on the specifics. We wish you well in what comes next, and if there's anything you'd like to raise directly before you leave, the People team is genuinely open to that conversation.
