I worked at Celgene full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pipeline but facing severe competition in therapeutic areas. Have lost monopoly in MM.
Good rewards but at a social price.

    Cons

    Lack of prioritisation
Leadership team needs to be changed. Not connected to work force. Continous mantra without validation
Work life balance talked a lot but not in practice.
Expensive products that are Continously rejected by NICE.

    Advice to Management

Connect with your people and move with the times. It's people that make a company.

    Pros

Lots of responsibility and a culture of empowerment.
    High rewards for performance.
Strong sense of mission and trust on the Haem/Onc side of the business.

    Cons

Lean structure means that workload can be high.
Senior management can get disconnected from the teams because of lack of focus.

    Advice to Management

Focus, focus, focus. Work harder on your teams than you do on managing upwards.

I worked at Celgene full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Has a feel of a company that is heading in the right direction and doing the right thing, for the right reasons. Is very well respected within the industry, good place to work, benefits get better the more senior you get (if you can get there).

    Cons

A lot of ideas discussed, projects created and work completed only for it to be lost in the decisions of senior management or another project the following year to completely change the direction.
Some of the internal processes aren't in place for what you'd expect at such a company.

There is discontent amongst those that have been there 5+ years that the company isn't what it used to be - This is inevitable to some degree and not necessarily a con.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your employees and actively use the work that they do, check that your lower level management is not saying one thing up the ladder and doing another thing down it.
