Pros

Flexible work place with plan for the future. Innovative. Long term employment. Coworkers are friendly and professional. Organization is trying to improve culture. Understanding managers. Leadership welcomes new ideas and gives credit for contributions. Fully remote and hybrid opportunities. Good pay. Mentorship and support groups for women, veterans, LGBTQ+ and more. Benefits, compensation, tuition reimbursement, 401k match, 11 paid holidays, 14 weeks maternal leave (include parental leave), generous vacation time (accrual, does not roll over) Sick time front loaded on 1/1(rolls over with a limit). Certified as a great place to work. Onboarding for new employees. Supportive groups for moms. Top 50 company for diversity. Employees can apply to internal jobs after 1 year in a role. Employees are encouraged to refer candidates.

Cons

Employee recognition, award and reward. Compensation. Fair Promotion. Retention Strategies/Staff turnover. Changes. Developing employees as leaders. Clear path to career advancement. There's space for professional development but fairness and leadership support is lacking. People in individual contributor roles have committed nearly 10 years to the organization and never had a promotion but are constantly told they're appreciated or adding value to team. Employees experience seeing folks they trained get promoted over them which seems mostly due to a buddy system and gives bad vibes. While employees are responsible for initiating these career growth discussions with their managers, some managers are partial and unsupportive of staff advancing to other roles while some promote their friends or the outspoken ones. The quiet ones and does without connections deserve a promotion and raise too. The outspoken ones aren't always right anyway. Employee can take initiatives and do next level work and not be promoted. Infact, when work transitions to someone else after an employee has put their all into the task and prevented many business risk, the person rounding it up gets accolades and a promotion. A process to ensure fairness and consistency would be effective and efficient in such a big organization. Not all managers are bad but people definitely leave bad bosses overall, staff turnover affects an organization. People also leave for opportunities to climb the professional ladder elsewhere. Compensation could be more competitive to retain talent.
