Toxic workplace

Pros

Salary is good, but not worth the unreasonable hours and stress due to the toxic work culture.

Cons

Cere Network (and it's new sister company Cef.ai) is managed very purely by the CEO - Fred Jin. Most people at the company are just trying to put on a facade of working a lot to not get yelled at and humiliated by Fred. No real work that leads towards goals gets done. The turnover at the company is extremely high because most people cannot put up with Fred's toxic behavior.

Pros

The Human Resources team is exceptional, and the company boasts a plethora of highly skilled engineers and managers. A wide array of technologies are utilized here, presenting numerous exciting engineering challenges.

Cons

The CEO's leadership is detrimentally affecting the company. His self-perception as a figure akin to Steve Jobs is used as a reason for his fluctuating temperament, overbearing demeanor, and regular humiliation of staff. His decision-making skills are questionable, and his inability to lead the business effectively has led to the team being entirely replaced twice within the year. Despite his lack of experience and knowledge, he insists on being part of every architectural decision, leading to process blockages, blame-shifting, and often unnecessary conflict with engineers. Delays in promised pay raises are a recurring issue, leading many engineers to seek employment elsewhere after months of waiting. If, despite these reviews, you still decide to work under CEO Fred Jin, it is recommended that you negotiate a higher initial salary to offset the stress that could potentially be caused by this environment. Avoid falling into the common trap of accepting lower pay with the promise of a substantial raise, as these promises are frequently unfulfilled.
