Cons
The culture is abusive, and the Company intends only to serve the executives of the Company. The culture is one that lacks accountability, and it encourages finger-pointing and interoffice politics. The blame is often targeted towards employees at the lower-levels, and the executives fail to own any mistakes but will take credit for any organizational “wins.” Senior executives assume little of the workload but garner large compensation packages. There is little to no vision within this organization, and senior leadership fails to listen or take different perspectives into account. The lack of communication and clarity leads to confusion, misunderstandings, and roadblocks. Employees are often left in the dark and asked to pivot with little to no explanation. The Company makes frequent changes with no explanation or planning – failed initiatives are blamed on lower-level employees. Employees are poorly compensated, overworked, and under-appreciated. The CEO makes an absurd amount of money, even though he is a first-time CEO. Most of the CEO’s objectives have failed, a red flag for any employee seeking employment with this Company. He fails to compensate the employees fairly or at the market-level even though he and the executives are compensated beyond the market. These decisions are indicative of the leadership style and the lack of appreciation towards the employees. The Company is poorly staffed (budget cuts), but expectations and additional work continue to be allotted to the employees, which creates a poor work/life balance. Expect to work constantly and be expected to respond to “off-hours” communication. The Company operates in a gray and unethical manner – the business practices are questionable, and the life insurance products are illegal to be sold in most countries. The employee morale is poor, and there is a constant fear of job loss while employees battle rumors, verbal abuse, and combating interests. It is no wonder the organization has a high turnover rate. It is hard to retain employees belittled, mistreated, and shown no appreciation for their efforts. Please do not consider this organization as a prospective employer.
