Pros

Not very much oversight. If you got your tasks done, you could work when you wanted unless you were directly working with a client. Any certs you need for job are paid by company. Company pays for 2 attempts per cert. (Travel and training prep are not covered). If your looking for a stop-gap job, this is the place for you.

Cons

Poor Leadership, terrible communication, Clango would hide/cover up when employees left within a year. Poor Benefits. Poor salary compensation. Lack of company direction - does not take criticism of company direction. In-office employees pay for their own parking (roughly $20 per day). No formal onboarding or introductions for new employees. All of IT is run by 1 person, who is expected to also work client facing work. Grossly underpaid and under compensated employees leave within 6 months, which is why Clango offers a referral program that incentives referrer and the referred to stay for more than 6 months. Only offers high deductible plans with no employer contributions. HSA account is held with private company that has "admin fee" that is deducted from your HSA account - Which cuts into the amount you can contribute into your account, and doesn't go towards your deductible. (Clango leadership chose to have employees pay that fee rather than the company cover it - and also removed other plans outside of high deductible plans during COVID because healthcare costs increased) 401K is below market average. Was told 5% during interviews, but that was completely misleading.

Low Pay & Old Technology

Pros

Worked with many different technologies, even if these were older.

Cons

- Significantly lower pay than competitors. - Benefits severely cut within recent times. I would not expect any benefits above the legal minimum within six months. Management is cost-cutting and any hiring is a mirage. - Government contractor; technology stack is obsolete. - Management falsifies their daily engagement to purposefully ignore gross concerns.

Pros

- Friendly. DIT is a family. Everyone at DIT is very friendly and easy to work with. You will engage with all levels at DIT. Many employees have been there a long time. - Flexible. DIT has a great work-life balance. They let people work from home or work flex time. I worked the normal 40 hours. If you need to work overtime one week, you can balance out your hours in the pay-period. In addition, I was able to get PTO approved very easily. It is a great company if you have a family. Some people even worked in Fredericksburg, so they allowed them to work from home some days. - Size. DIT is a small, but rapidly growing company. You can learn a lot if you take advantage. The management will work with you if you want to change paths or take on new learning opportunities. - Learning. DIT will pay for certifications and trainings that you feel are as asset to your career and the company. You will also be exposed to a lot at DIT from proposals to all phases of the SDLC. - Management. All of the management has been with the company a long time. They are always willing to listen to new ideas. They are accessible if you need to talk, and you will see them around the office. - Projects. You can work on multiple projects on a time or just one. It depends. Most of the work is in the office. You may need to attend client meetings occasionally depending on your job role. I found most of the work was not client-facing. - Location. Great location if you work out of the Arlington office - right by the Courthouse metro! If you do drive, you will have to pay for parking in the garage. However, there are some secret spots in neighborhoods, but you have to walk a bit.

Cons

DIT is a sink or swim atmosphere sometimes. If you are a quick learner, you will do just fine. You should be able to handle little direction at times. Many teams come together for team meetings/scrums, but most of the work is independent. It all depends on your Job Role. Size. DIT is still a growing company. Like any small business, they are still working things out. If you have suggestions, definitely let management know.
