Pros
You always have work so you never have to worry about missing visits if you are contract, but they also pay hourly so that’s nice. It’s a steady salary. You get productivity bonuses.
Cons
No work life balance. If they can book you at 100%, they do, but they tell you that you only have to be at 65% productivity—not ever the case. The realistic expectation is closer to 80% in their eyes. The bonuses are not worth the mental health strain they put on you. There’s no good leadership in place, and to be honest there’s no diversity in leadership either. They over schedule you for evaluations even if you tell them it’s not the type of speciality case you are qualified to see. This is very much the type of clinic, no matter their location because they have several clinics in Houston, that expects you to get the patients in and out and not focus on the quality of therapy. They just want you working like a hamster in a wheelhouse billing for patients but don’t make time for paperwork. They don’t care about paperwork time and expect you to get it done off the clock. It’s not a healthy place to work. I cannot stress this enough. It’s not a healthy or positive place to work, especially if you are still learning. They take advantage of CFs and SLPAs and don’t supervise them the correct amount of time each month.
