Pros

High level of access to senior leadership. Ability to take responsibility at a low level and build a development path. Start-up culture. Niche market with lots of current focus. Constantly innovating and building new capabilities. Able to pivot or move laterally for opportunities across the organization. Work produced is of a high quality and will expose you to some of the leading thinkers in the space.

Cons

Formal training is limited, but hand-on experiential learning is high. Need a "trial by fire" mentality. Company employees work long(ish) hours, but with a commitment to their work. Resources can be scarce: lean methodologists would work best in this environment.

Pros

Some projects interesting and you will get to meet colleagues and clients who are professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with.

Cons

There is an excessively toxic atmosphere in the Custom Research area partly because the Vice-president is very profits-oriented and dehumanizes junior level employees with an impressive lack of support and empathy. If you are a member of a protected class, you will be not only harassed but targeted and ultimately framed for poor performance and fired. Unfortunately, these behaviors are indirectly accepted and protected. The Vice-president and directors are well-connected, know one another outside of the company, and will not hesitate to show you the door if you stand up for yourself and/or report their illegal behaviors and hostilities to HR.
