      Work with smart people; build transferrable skills.

      Cons

      Very, very long hours for months on end without adequate compensation for over-time. Poor development opportunities, though this depends on the office.

      Pros

      The pay is unparalleled for economics consultancy, and you get to experience a variety of cases.

      Cons

      Hours are brutal and mental health issues are never addressed. The idea is to 'tough it out or to get out' - which has been communicated to multiple people. Middle management (Economists, Senior Economists) are quitting in droves as the work is brutal and there is no support from seniors.

      Pros

      Very interesting work (Compass gets many of the most high profile cases in EU Competition). Excellent technical level of colleagues (you learn so much from the people you work with, and are constantly challenged). Great work environment (friendly colleagues and real support from management when things are difficult either at work or in your life). Flexible work arrangement (e.g. working from home is very common). Work across offices with colleagues not only around Europe, but also in US and Asia. Pay is higher than with competitors.

      Cons

      Some times hours can be very long, although flexible work arrangements allow for decent work-life balance
