Pros

interesting products smart and nice people

Cons

The new VP hire is a disaster. They're bringing in cutthroat Amazon culture, are pushing deadlines forward even when unrealistic and do not want to hear no. This attitude is now trickling down and making Couchbase a much worse place to work

Pros

Reasonable compensation with decent benefits. Very talented folks who are great to work with. Don't skimp when it comes to your work laptop and the offices are great. Decent onboarding process.

Cons

Massive turnover in the engineering group this year. Changing culture that brings micro-management and deadlines set by senior leadership which are entirely unrealistic. Even if you do get to estimate the work senior leadership will cut the timelines to make it 'more aggressive' as this is how we work now. People are burning out across the whole team and the culture is all but gone. Communication is terrible you mostly hear about changing and co flicting priorities through rumor or when you are told you need to do more work somehow.
