Valuable first job but lacks training

Pros

You work with some wonderful families and individuals, and it’s very valuable as a first job in teaching you how to manage your own schedule and adapt to tough situations.

Cons

Minimal, if any, training because you learn almost everything in the moment as it’s happening. Services for individuals varies widely because everyone is trained differently/learns from whoever they’ve shadowed so almost no one is on the same page. Grossly underpays their staff for the amount of care, effort, and work that goes into working in this field.

Supportive work environment and positive culture. Work life balance is encouraged with offering good PTO. Supportive supervisors that really care. Flexible schedule. They often promote from within.

Cons

As with any non profit, raises aren’t guaranteed which is tough with rising cost of living.

Pros

Working with my team was great. They were likeable people and we worked well together. But I also heard from other coworkers that other treatment teams were a mess and couldn't work well together

Cons

Pay was atrocious. One year, no one got a raise. And I felt that I didn't get much support from management. The job itself felt stressful but honestly, if you thrive in fast paced environments, that you should be fine.
