Pros

The team that I have worked with were very easy to work with and knowledgeable.

Cons

Bottom line, The person who calls himself the CEO. To make a long story short, the CEO is in fact the least competent leader that I have worked with. He asked employees to write positive GlassDoor reviews to counteract the negatives, which is a not okay at all. He didn’t allow working from home, but there were two employees who had a personal relationship with the CEO who were on payroll, worked from home, but as far as I know, they never showed up at office, at any meetings and didn’t see any of their work. This seemed very shady because the CEO would get upset and discouraged us from ever reaching out or questioning what they were doing. There was no discernible vision and how we were going to profitability that I could see. Instead of taking accountability for poor decisions we have seen him make, he would blame former employees no longer there who had nothing to do with a particular decision. If you need the money, and have no other options at the time, or are brand new to the industry take the job as a placeholder. The team was amazing and very knowledgeable, but people left quickly for obvious reasons. The pay is significantly below market for similar roles elsewhere, there are no stock options, equity, profit share, bonuses or anything to make up for that.

A Toxic Sinking Ship

Pros

The Engineering Team (Developers / QA / PM) is great!! They are smart, creative, and collaborative. Unfortunately, they have also lost about half the team over the last couple of months.

Cons

Dapicon is the most toxic place I have ever worked. There was a constant battle between senior leadership and the CEO. Managers and Directors were not trusted to do their jobs...even though they were extremely competent. The CEO has a history of undermining, threatening, and lying to his employees and does not treat them with respect. He has blatantly engaged in discrimination based on gender, age, weight, race, and other factors. The parent company is also untrustworthy and does not respect the boundaries that should exist to allow the team to focus on their deliverables. Priorities and projects are constantly changing, and the employees are often required to switch between working on Dapicon projects and working on the parent company's projects. The company lacks direction as a whole and has no clear vision of the product they are building. On top of all of this, until recently, employees were also required to work in the office M-F from 8-5. They were not allowed to work from home...no matter what. They are now allowed to work from home on specific days, but there are still heavy guidelines in place. The CEO watches everyone come and go and keeps notes of who comes in late or leaves early (even by a few minutes). If you get too many ticks, you will be at risk of being targeted for firing or other retaliation. There are very strict rules around PTO and leaving for appointments, and the team is generally treated with mistrust and suspicion when it comes to managing their time.

Don't Chance It

Pros

The day-to-day team on the ground is cool but shrinking quickly.

Cons

The CEO is the problem with the company and driving it to ruin. The CEO freely practiced nepotism by hiring family/friends and putting them in jobs they are completely unqualified to hold. Additionally these resources were allowed to work from home while the entire rest of the team was required to be in the office from 8-5 daily. None of these relationships are divulged until after hire, if at all. The CEO also fancies himself as a jack of all trades and thinks he can do anyone's job, which is not only a joke, but really insulting to the employees who are specialists in their areas. Employees are asked by the CEO to lie to the Owner constantly. The CEO is obsessed with having an audience and is more concerned with an employee leaving 5 minutes early than the fact that he is losing an employee nearly once a week. Take a big pass on any job there.
