Pros

The Benefits are not bad. Working remote

Cons

In all my years of employment I have never been compelled to write a review/warning. However in this case I feel obligated to advise anyone considering employment here to look at all your options. This company used to be the best place one could work at. People might argue that the change from small business to being bought out by a corporation, has something to do with the shift of the workplace environment. Having gone through this process in a previous job, I can say confidently this is not the case. Upper management resembles a “mean girl” clique. If you are not liked by one of them they all make your job miserable. It speaks volumes that most of the minority employees have either been laid off or quit. Asking for help or support when you are overwhelmed, offering your knowledge or making a suggestion is a death sentence. It is apparent that management has not educated themselves at the intricacies of departments or job responsibilities. Top Salespeople that were not hired by them were often scrutinized. While one’s workload overwhelming no encouragement is given in fact one was admonished for working overtime. While many employees were passionate and dedicated, this was always overlooked unless you were in the “ln Crowd” This once amazing and delightful place to work has been reduced to really the toxic social structure of high school popularity hierarchy. Where I fault HNI as a corporation is that they received at least four written complaints and six verbal ones about the toxic work environment they have created. People who genuinely loved their job and were trying to find ways to work with people that were causing pain and grief. Those who did complain were guaranteed anonymity, however it was apparent that did not happen. Attitudes got icier and one was scrutinized harder.

Pros

There are no pros to add

Cons

Teams are not adequately staffed, leading to individuals being overworked and underpaid with limited resources to complete their tasks. Unfortunately, management seems disinterested in improving the situation and instead looks to place blame on others. The working environment can only be described as toxic, with silence, gossip, and chatter from leadership contributing to the problem. It seems that the parent company is also suppressing any attempts to address these issues, leaving employees with no clear path to success within the company.
