Pros

International working environment (I say this with a lot of reservations). Some of the teammates are/were great to work with.

Cons

When I first started working for this company I had great hopes for my career. Even though I read the bad reviews on Glassdoor, I decided to quit my stable respectful job and work for them. They seduced me with growing opportunities and I was excited to grow even more professionally and help expand the company. It didn’t take a week before I noticed the abusive language in the internal communication (face to face or emails), where employees were treated with disrespect in front of others, and that was totally normal. Huge red flag as they like to label things! How can any employee do anything right when they change their minds all the time about everything? The internal communication is a mess and has no proper process for basically anything. I lost count of how many times I was awaken by emails early in the morning, holidays… the thing is, if it was urgent it's understandable, but most of the time was just bullying. Expect no feedback… They will make sure you fail and then treat you with disrespect. Even if you don't fail they will say you did and give no proper explanation or proper grounds. Of course, top management based in New York are not aware. Middle management suffers from bipolar disorder and their attitudes will demotivate you. I almost regret staining my perfect CV with this company.

Pros

Good people on the ground who try to do their best for their clients.

Cons

It is sad to see what a good company could become. The global teams have been discontented for quite some time but the constant lip service from Management to sell more to customers to increase revenue (who don't really need more that the basic service they signed up for); the increasing demands from Management to do more work (after making scores of people redundant); and the constant acquisitions of companies (good luck Galvanize, Steele!) without a cohesive strategy to create a unified platform to offer its clients have led many to leave the business. DIligent has also made many people redundant across its key service locations only to place new and untrained staff in Galway. The staff are so inexperienced that customers are constantly complaining to their poor customer success managers who do not shoulder the responsibility of of supporting their clients anymore and who are also saddled with learning an increasingly list of poorly developed and poorly supported products. The exodus is across many business units regardless of seniority. There was a time when Diligent could be recommended to others. Not anymore.

We appreciate your honest feedback. While this was a tough review to hear, it is important to understand the feedback. With this in mind, we recently embarked on a strategic transformation to align our organization to the evolving needs and challenges of our customers. As part of that, we established new international offices in geographies more closely aligned to our client base. We’ve been intensely focused on our onboarding and training programs for new hires, as well as our teams globally across Commercial, Product, and Customer Support. More recently, as you alluded to, we made two strategic acquisitions – Galvanize and Steele – that position us to achieve our vision to build a unified GRC platform, which is something we’re confident our clients will find most valuable. We recognize that there has been a lot of change and news to digest recently at Diligent. But we are confident these steps are the right ones for us to grow sustainably in the long-term – for the benefit of our clients and our team. And as always, wherever there have been near-term impacts to team members, we have strived to be as supportive as possible. I also want to acknowledge you feel that no one is listening – I am truly sorry to hear that. Our team members’ questions, thoughts, and reactions are paramount to us, and I encourage you to reach out to any of the leadership team or to HR (confidentially if you wish via hrconfidential@diligent.com) with any further thoughts you want to share. Thank you again for your post. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

Nice location. (Some) lovely colleagues

Cons

You really need to know how to play the field here, there’s a serious political hierarchy and if you’re not friends with the right people (Ie take part in their highly booze infused events out) you’re pretty much invisible no matter how hard you work. Everyone is fake friendly to your face, and a lot of people don’t actually like each other! There are some serious allegations going on to which senior management is completely turning a blind eye. There are clear “favourites” and management openly admits this. If you don’t mind working until the late late hours of the night, you’ll find your place here. Incompetent management with no people skills and no ability to give constructive feedback or the support you need in order to grow personally. I am completely shocked at the way they treat employees. False promises are a daily conversation! And don’t bother talking to HR as all they’re good at is finding excuses for the behaviour of the management.
