Pros

Met some lovely people and was able to take ownership of my work and add to my portfolio.

Cons

When I first joined the company I was excited and promised flexible working and company benefits. However, unfortunately I soon realised that the minimal benefits offered do not make up for the toxic way the company is run and there is not as much flexibility as I'd expected. Throughout my time at the company, I have seen many, many people let go who were hard workers and went above and beyond to help the company grow. There was never a good reason for letting people go and it seems that there are a lot of very bad and spontaneous decisions being made from the top. The company makes out that they care about your wellbeing but as soon as you raise any concerns, you are told to get on and deal with it without any support. I'm absolutely shocked at the way people are treated and there are definitely favourites within the company. If you are considering working here then be aware that the turnover rate is extremely high and it is not a company that you will be able to stay in long-term as there is no future. It seems like as soon as that 12-month point is approaching then you are told to be on your way. I would also like to add that I have seen negative comments left about HR but I do genuinely believe that HR is in an impossible situation and has to be the messenger from the founders and the ones to give bad news. If you work here, then I would advise that you get your paycheck and keep your head down and be expected to be let go without warning. The founders seriously lack empathy and there is definitely something going on behind the scenes that staff are not aware of. Listen to the negative reviews as they are all 100% true. The good reviews have clearly been left by the same few people who have an in with the founders.

Pros

Some genuinely nice people to work with. Easyship are trying to learn from mistakes through various efforts with certain initiatives & training to improve workplace communication and understanding amongst each other as well as to make the company a desirable place to work and grow.

Cons

Co-founders have no vision or competency to grow a successful company since ego is not enough. Numbers don't lie and the growth has been abysmal during the past decade. They don't seem to acknowledge their own flaws due to being conceited and seem to constantly change their mind on numerous business objectives & KPIs as evident from the company roadmaps. Easyship have literally never come close to their forecasted financial & growth metrics but are not honest and transparent to employees by only selling the dream about the company's potential to make them stay around longer for below market pay but those who have come to their senses will realise that jumping ship is the best course of action. Just look at the retention rate which is one of the worst in any industry. Easyship are an insignificant player in this industry competing against well funded, innovative, reputable companies with competent management & people teams so don't waste your precious time on this sinking ship. They don't have a bright future in this business environment so please don't join if you have offers from other companies since it cannot get worse than this if you live in the west. Easyship has also made several bad hires who have had no experience to do their role and the consequences are clearly visible with people leaving or getting fired & there is certainly correlations here. There is visible favouritism within the company in the way certain people are treated by Co-founders & Directors from the attention given to them which is incestuous & unprofessional but it is obvious why they are treated this way and sadly it has not to do with performance at work but maybe outside of work. As a result, they are making poor decisions due to being blinded by whatever is going on between them when no one is watching and this has a ripple effect that they don't realise in the short-term. HR is also highly incompetent at their role and this is pivotal in the declining culture at the company. They seem to have imposter syndrome which is warranted considering their lack of experience working in HR and they are a reflection of the poor standards that the company has for hiring quality talent. HR acts sanctimoniously with all the virtue signalling as if they practice what they preach and seem to overvalue the importance of their role. They preach as if it's sunday service but never do any self reflection on their own mistakes by having a victim mentality when things go against them and they never take responsibility for their poor judgements and decisions. They have done feminism injustice with their net negative contributions which has done more harm than good but they are too conceited to realise this by only blaming others and not taking responsibilities for their own actions. They will turn a blind eye to a certain co-founder making lewd and perverted comments about certain employee or for using a plethora of profanity but would then nit-pick on comments or the choice of words of employees that aren't even offensive but they would simply manipulate the truth to fit their narrative like a failed lawyer would do. HR is the most dishonest person at the company and gossips far too much about others as if this is part of their responsibilities but the way they carry this out is so tasteless. Their character is the worst I have seen due to their sociopathic tendencies of attacking employees when they are most vulnerable like a predator and they have no empathy which is required to work in HR but they have done an unbelievable job covering up this image like a sociopath would. They have so much spitefulness inside them which others have mentioned here and it's 100% true as they only show their true colours when the opportunity arises and take full advantage of their impunity by intimidating and bullying vulnerable employees. HR is a huge liability to the company that needs to be written off if you want to see improvements as all your other initiatives are not going to improve the company culture when the root cause comes from so deep within.

Pros

Nothing that barks out, company is poor overall.

Cons

Company is not growing despite the image they try to portray and employees are leaving or getting fired secretly to cut costs. HR is two faced and unscrupulous so don't be fooled by their smile and fake act of kindness. They will gossip about you when you least expect it and are strategic in the relationships they form with certain managers to maintain their image by appearing to be trustworthy and caring to the needs of those managers but they are very spiteful in reality.

Easyship Response

Thank you for your review. It is important for us to understand employee frustrations to help improve. Unfortunately we strongly disagree with your comments above. HR works in a holistic manner to support all the employees in the business. They also work proactively with managers to ensure they are developing skills to ensure they lead and manage people correctly. We are driven by giving people opportunities from within, our team and opportunities here at Easyship are driven by experiences. We also do include personality tests in our hiring process, but just like any company hiring is difficult and every company can make mistakes on hires. Our goal is to always hire the best people. Thank you for your feedback and please reach out to our HR team should you have any other concerns.
