Great team, confusing culture

Pros

Working with an incredibly talented technical team is amazing, the fully remote experience is also executed well- work is done asynchronously and meetings are generally worthwhile & biannual offsites are a great way to build the team. The two founders are very open and approachable.

Cons

Some middle management brought in to execute an enterprise sales and marketing motion appear to not understand the core market of the product and are fostering an unpleasant culture in the company. Our hiring processes are also unclear and have led to some poor hiring decisions. Weird firing practises too, bad hires stick around for a very long time and little effort seems to be made to help them improve or become a better fit. Compensation is barely average and promotions don't come with the expected salary increase, even for titles which we've hired in for more money.

Dynamic team with bright future

Pros

Sales team is focused and dedicated and a really fun interesting group of people to be around. To me, my colleagues are the most important part of a role. In my experience the company pulls together when things need to get done and this fosters a productive and dynamic environment. You will be kept on your toes and you won't get bored, and ultimately you get out what you put in. If you want to take ownership of your career, Edge Impulse is a great place to be.

Cons

Edge ML is an emerging space, so you the company is constantly iterating. You need to be comfortable with change.

Pros

Smart people in a cutting edge industry that is projected to grow astronomically.

Cons

I was the SDR manager. It was a new role for the company and I was promoted from SDR to manager. Shortly after a new VP of sales came in and felt I didnt' have the experience since management was new to me. Rather than give me the option to remain as SDR, they laid me off. There is no loyalty
