Good pay, lots of uncertainty

Pros

- Good pay - Elastic pays for your health insurance - Diverse workforce - Underrated tech with tons of potential

Cons

- Verrry immature GTM strategy. We’re doing things with marketing and our partner org that our competitors have done for 5+ years. - NO ONE KNOWS WHO WE ARE despite being public for 8 years. - Get ready to sell against yourself. We have so many powerful features to open source and monthly subscriptions that most customers don’t see a reason to annualize or pay in general. Plus, tons of copy cat companies use Elastic under the hood and compete with us. - Forecasting is essentially being told to lie, then being held accountable to that lie you made it willingly . Literally every quarter seems like a prayer. Make a number up and hope we get there. - Uncertain future. Lots of aspirational goals from execs about being the foundational layer of AI, but know one I know has actually sold a deal like this. Maybe at the strat level, but no where else I’ve seen. The stock price speaks for itself here.
