Pros
Livable wages for ALL employees, not just those at district manager and above. Very good health/vision/dental insurance, almost all company paid (I paid $60/month for myself for all three). Company matching 401(k), vacation and personal time. You'll lose weight at first, guaranteed, and get daily exercise.
Cons
ALDI staffs their stores minimally (mine, a mid-volume store, had 2-3 closers each day, including the manager). So, the workload is, pretty consistently, soul crushing. The company expects perfection, on time or early, no matter how busy the stores are or how few employees corporate allows to work. Since retail stores make their money by short staffing, don't expect logic to apply here- just because your store is high volume or very busy DOES NOT mean you'll get more staff per shift. Quite the opposite, they might try to maximize profits by cutting staff even more. The stress levels are sky high, through the roof, every day. If you need mental and emotional stability at work, AVOID this place. Pretty much the only people who thrive here are people who have no social/family life, who are corporate-types and aren't afraid to step on employees who have hearts to get to the top. Turn off your brain and emotions when you clock in, you won't need them here.
