Pros
They offer a pretty decent benefits package. With the sales reps and sales support reps being union they are really cheap. On the management side, they get expensive with high deductibles. The "fringe" benefits are nice such as free cell service, discounts on wireless products and discounts on the wire line services as well. Across sales channel there a lot of potential opportunity a lot of which may be more of a lateral move. AT&T requires you to be in your position a minimum of 1 year before any advancement can take place which is inline with most other companies.
Cons
As a company overall senior management doesn't openly recognize the employees, and career advancement within the company doesn't not happen all that often. Depending in your manager there is some flexibility in scheduling if you need time for family events. As with any retail company you are expected to be in your store and/or available at all times. As a manager the normal work week is about 50 hours. There is no flex time so if you work over your 40 hours then so be it. You are in your store 50-60 hours per week and your phone never stops on your "day off". Even on vacation, as long you are not international, you are expected to have your device and be available. The goals keep going up making it harder and harder for the employees to hit these goals. That is why their employee turn over rate is so high. The employees either can't hit their goals no matter what they do so they get fired for it, or they try to find a loop hole and work they system. Once that is found they get fired for that. AT&T has no plan in place for employee retention, nor do they try.
