Pros
Got a chance to work with diverse group of people. It provided a number of opportunities to grow professionally, technically and overall. It provided good training and provide good support in case one falters. The firm expected a very can-do attitude. There was a serious attempt to ensure that everybody gets frequent feedback on performance and show where they stood in the performance.
Cons
Up-or-Out policy in consulting. Very strong requirement to know right partners if one wants to become partner. The consulting culture was cut-throat forcing people to continue to grow or get out. The ratings were quite a bit dependent upon the personality of the direct manager on the project. If he is not strong, he could not defend you in the ratings call. Very margin focussed. Employees are considered just a number. Very quick to give the people pink slip.
