Pros

Very good PTO - I never had a problem of taking time off in my four years Great training / learning facilities Outstanding portal with amazing content - broken dow by industry and skills. This is probably one of the best portals I have seen - lot to learn and share Large # of Communities of Practice (CoP) people can choose from to join and learn and share Pretty good internal support systems (Tech - 'CIO'; HR, Benefts Center, etc.) Good Employee Discount progams for purchasing goods and services Fast track career growth if you join very young

Cons

If you are lucky enough to find a 'Mentor' Senior Executive to be your Guardian Angel, you can survive pretty much anything and pull on for years living a 'peaceful' life - the joke goes that you just need to have a 'WBS' (aka charge code) to which you charge your time. If you are unable to find one such Mentor who can take you under his / her wings, even God cannot help! In a nutshell, the loyalty factor is key for survival. This environment is perfect for someone starting out early on and growing thru the ranks...you will find that most Senior Managers / SEs have spent an average of 10 to 15 years in the firm.. started out as a Senior Manager and despite finding good people who I vibed with pretty well, at the end of the day the Senior folks will fall back on who they have worked with the longest period of time and will go all out to protect them. Client access is always a challenge, partcularly for Sales folks. There is an elaborate 'internal selling' process and by the time you are done convincing the client team / managemen of why you need client access and for which opporunity (or even to find an opportunity) it may be too late. The delay and the rigorous process can be very frustrating, particularly if one is very energetic, self-driven and raring to go out make things happen. One needs to go thru an elaborate process, for which some people coined the term 'Accenturization'. If the client team / management thinks that you are not sufficiently 'Accenturized' - tough luck! The reason for this is that Accenture is NOT a heavily sales-driven organization. It is a relationship-driven firm. If you want to learn how to cultivate client relationships join as an Analyst and 'grow up' from there. It will be a much better experience.

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Cons

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
