Despite the initial promise of a supportive environment, my experience with the HR/people team has left much to be desired. While they actively engage in planning and organising small office events, their responsiveness and support in critical situations have been lacking. Despite their constant emphasis on the importance of mental health, they tend to become defensive when their assistance is needed the most.
The absence of effective management is a notable drawback in this company. The expectation to set one's own goals and find tasks to do can be challenging without proper guidance and support. Unfortunately, seeking help or clarification from managers often leads to unhelpful responses, and in some cases, it's even used against employees, impacting 121 meetings and contract renewals negatively.
Despite the facade of a friendly and helpful atmosphere, the reality of the company falls short of expectations. While it may serve as a suitable short-term option, the lack of genuine support and the deceitful nature of the organizational dynamics make it imperative to consider other opportunities for long-term career growth and job satisfaction.
