Pros
I have worked in their IT department for over 20 years. Generally a very flexible enjoyable place to work. The culture is professional without being oppressive. People/Managers are understanding and reasonable. (Of course you get the odd one!) Working environment is good, with good pay and share scheme etc.
Cons
I have very little bad to say about Barclays. I believe that colleagues are very reasonable and friendly/helpful. However, I also understand that senior managers/directors realm there is a culture of politics, empire building and shenanigans! This is ultimately destructive to Barclays. Culture stems from the top and it is up to those on the board to stamp this out and set a more positive culture for the benefit of customers, staff and shareholders.
