The culture from the top down isnt good in a certain dept. In a certain dept, an individual has favourites and if you are not in that circle, be sure your career will not go anywhere and your hard work will not be recognised. Working long hours is seen to be the norm and even if you do it, it often doesn't get recognised. There is a blame culture and simply working hard and doing your job well is not enough if above analyst.
