Pros

- First off, it should be noted that the reviews you see here are coming from a variety of different roles within the company-- some from the "corporate HQ" in Soho, NYC, and others from the fulfillment centers in NJ and California. Read these carefully and try to parse out the experiences that are most relevant to the potential job(s) you're evaluating with Blue Apron. - Speaking from the only experience I have with Blue Apron (1+ year working a non-customer service role in the Soho office), I can say that I'm extremely satisfied and have been impressed with the company since day 1 of working here. I love my job, and I love working at Blue Apron. - You will be given real responsibilities and challenges immediately, and will be expected to take ownership and rise to the occasion. You'll feel good that you're helping to bring an interesting product to the world. - There are a slew of impressive people to learn from and work alongside, in every function. The team is diverse in every sense (much more so than other young companies where I've worked), with people coming from varied backgrounds and professional experiences. Having many different functions under one roof -- culinary, marketing, engineering, operations, finance, etc -- is fun, and the chemistry amongst teams is great. - The rate of growth is breakneck and it lends an exciting energy to each project. The brand is quickly becoming a household name, and the sky is the limit for the business if the team can execute against the aggressive growth goals. TL;DR - It's a smart, passionate team of people solving interesting problems and working on a product that is ridiculously easy to believe in. It's not simple work, but you shouldn't be looking at jobs with young, high-growth companies if you want simple work. I love it here, and if this sounds good to you, you will too.

Cons

- The culture is a bit vanilla compared with what I've seen and heard from other similar, young companies. This can be a good thing, in that you will not be getting the Heaven's Gate "drink the Kool-Aid" vibe, but it can sometimes feel like we're not having as much fun as a team in our position should be. The recently-introduced company values are a good effort, but we can do more. This kind of thing needs to be illustrated and lived from the top down. - There is a palpable distinction between the pretty swanky corporate offices and the middle-of-the-road fulfillment centers (though I expect this is true for any company with distribution-- Amazon, Whole Foods, etc). - We're a nationwide food retailer, no longer a startup. We should strive to reflect this in things like healthcare benefits, 401(k) plans, and transparency into what equity means for employees. I think we are working on these things but they can't come soon enough when it comes to attracting and retaining top talent. - Our growth has been incredibly impressive, but we have been existing in a near-constant state of "barely being able to keep up with the demand" for ~2 years. Potential for burnout, especially amongst operations/fulfillment-heavy roles.
