Pros

Decent benefits, had a lot of autonomy, good boss, but she had no power to implement her own strategy.

Cons

The CEO loves to call the employees "superpowers," but that rings hollow when she and the CFO lay people off every time they miss numbers, which is frequent. The excuses top management comes up with for not meeting expectations are always due to "external factors" like macro economic conditions, slow downs in customer spending, or unforseen economic headwinds. One earnings report 2 years ago they admitted they "didn't see this downturn coming." Isn't forecasting and knowing the industry part of the reason the top level of management is in place? The ability to blame everyone/everything else is what makes CDW's top leadership weak. They never blame themselves, ever, or say "we got it wrong, we need to be better" like a good manager would do. So, you end up with the employees taking the blame and paying the price and a stock price that has sunk recently from $260/share to $188/share. But, somehow the same team keeps managing this Company.

Pros

We all help each other to win unlike any other organization I've worked for. I've never seen an organization support their "coworkers" like CDW has. Management is excellent, supportive and not breathing down our neck but of course have expectations. Leadership is visible. The other day I got off the elevator and the CEO, Chris Leahy, was there which startled me to the point I didn't have words for her. Just be prepared to engage with variety of people often and you'll be successful here.

Cons

None at the moment. I could always get more pay but not real cons. If I owned a business, I'd model it after CDW in part.

Pros

You have the ability to sell full stack solutions, services and software.

Cons

I have worked at CDW for 10yrs and every single year they have changed the comp plan in a way that makes it harder for sellers to make money (constantly moving the goal post). Prior to 2020 CDW had little to no lay offs now it is happening every six months. They say the reasons is to reduce cost and improve efficiencies BUT as a company our sales continue to grow along with the C-levels pockets.
