Pros

Stable - as long as they can bill the client.

Cons

Toxic workplace to the core - I was appalled by treatment I both witnessed firsthand and heard about. Those who dare speak up about shameful "leadership" risk being turned on by management and the strongarm HR department. I witnessed team leads berate employees hired as new graduates. Pressure cooker like environment - borderline abusive "People Leaders" on certain teams. But I won't name names or share specifics. Training is a complete and total disaster - it is the most dysfunctional company and onboarding process I have ever seen. Turnover runs rampant due to poor environment, pay cuts (Tiny raises during runaway inflation), and a depressing career growth outlook. People come here excited and slowly have their souls crushed month after month, therefore the company operates like a revolving door. Especially younger employees are quick to leave, which I applaud them for after witnessing the dysfunction and atrocious management style on certain teams. Therefore, your team is constantly understaffed and undertrained. In the meantime, people leaders carry all the burden of "training" new employees, being evaluated constantly on their training metrics. I had employees on other teams asking to meet, because their team was so understaffed and overworked due to turnover that their "People Leaders" couldn't find time in their calendar on a regular basis to give them basic training. No wonder Seniors and Team Leads are stressed out, which leads to lashing out. Working the job of three, while underpaid, and tasked with training the new Consultant who walks in the door month after month! If given the choice of one of my children taking their career to this company or walking over hot coals, I would choose the latter. I refuse to work somewhere where I would be sad if my family and children worked. Therefore I left for significantly more pay and a 1000% better environment.

Pros

The team for whom I worked was great. One of the best.

Cons

Other teams not so much. Herding cats and you end up taking over on an IMC call for something not even in your sphere. I feel they blacklist employees they RIF. I had a great Director try to get me in with other BUs and nothing. He tried again and again. Others who got RIF'd told me the same. Not good. Also, seems people look over their shoulders looking for the Grim Reaper. Not a good way to be. And the higher ups that are in charge of client retention seem to not be the ones on the firing line, only the consultants that did great work for the clients who decide to leave. HR who is supposed to help get another job within the company are worthless. They want you to do all the work. Also, CGI is so big teams only know what they know. Learning other teams' stuff seems to be frowned upon. How can you move around? This login makes you stuck.
