Pros

Great pay package offered at joining. 401k match is good. Decent brand value.

Cons

Lots of so-called "Leads". To get promoted show how to get work done from others and in the process avoiding work altogether (which basically interprets to show yourself as lead without leading by example). Hence focus shifts from developing quality product to developing quality impression on Manager and becoming a YES man to manager. In return Manager hides incompetence of these "Leads". Managers and Leads team up to exploit and burden the little number of remaining engineers who do not conform to this culture. This becomes a major issue when an engineer wants to get work done but is stuck in getting rid of bureaucracy. Leads steal credits of fellow engineers and butter up Manager to maintain influence. Incompetency in developing Managers/Directors. Easy to become manager by just by buttering someone in upper management without the skills. A lot of favoritism in mid-level management. No innovation and mostly dependent on external vendors to develop product. Most of the teams are integration teams. Low morale due to frequent layoffs and little to no motivation to work. It is a job that just pays your bills with very little to no pay increases.

Limited intern bonding opportunities when compared to Round Rock office.

Pros

At this point? None honestly.

Cons

They did a complete 180 since I got hired. Came in as remote during COVID and now that they forced most people back to the office, they made us 3rd class citizens in the company. Can't get a raise, a promotion, any spiffs or even the same contests that the people in the office do. This company does not keep promises and has been constantly doing workforce reductions ever year like clockwork for 4 years now. The COO Jeff Clarke is an absolute clown as well, you have to go into the office dressed as business casual, but this guy goes to One Dell World in undersized lame t-shirts every year. Hypocrisy at all levels of this company. Just looking for a good opportunity and I am out, after talking to my co workers I feel like 70-80% feel the same. The tools also suck and are down half the time as well.
