Pros

- Exceptional opportunities to work on high-profile, industry-leading accounts. - Strong visibility across clients, leadership teams, and the broader organization. - A highly respected name on your résumé that can open doors throughout the communications industry. - The opportunity to collaborate with some of the smartest and most talented professionals in PR, marketing, and communications. - A global footprint with offices in major cities, offering mobility and networking opportunities across markets.

Cons

* Long hours are common. * Working through lunch is often the norm, and many employees bring their laptops with them while they eat. * The environment can be high-pressure. Billable hours are closely monitored, and employees who consistently fall short may be at greater risk during performance reviews or workforce reductions. * There can be pressure to secure placement on high-profile accounts, as visibility and utilization often impact career progression. * Periodic layoffs can create uncertainty and contribute to a heightened sense of job insecurity. That said, this experience is not universal across the company. I've heard wonderful things about teams such as Social Media and Influencer Marketing, which many employees describe as having a very different culture and work environment. Edelman is a large organization, and each practice area often operates like its own ecosystem. Your experience will depend heavily on your team, manager, client portfolio, and how proactive you are in seeking opportunities beyond your day-to-day responsibilities. Navigating internal relationships and organizational dynamics is also an important part of succeeding there. I will say that the new head of Corporate Reputation at JJ has been fantastic, and I've seen positive changes being made. Ultimately, Edelman is what you make of it. My advice is to stay focused, put your best foot forward, and keep detailed records of your accomplishments, wins, client feedback, and contributions throughout the year. Having that documentation will be invaluable during mid-year and annual reviews. Advocate for the salary you want and express interest in the accounts and projects that align with your career goals. Edelman offers tremendous opportunities for growth and learning, but because of its size, it's also possible to get lost in the shuffle if you're not intentional about managing your career and making your contributions visible.

Pros

Great clients. Great people to work with.

Cons

Office politics. Silly things that were sold to the client that just did not make sense.

Pros

I worked with some of the brightest and best people in the business. Most of them are no longer with the company. Some good clients, and nice office space.

Cons

Very limited opportunities for growth. During my time they reduced promotions to only once a year, and made many excuses for promoting as few people as possible (despite becoming the first "$1B" agency at that time). Morale was extremely low. People were forced to come into an office with nobody they actually worked with. Common to be passed from manager to manager. At one point I had 6+ managers within a 10-month span.
