Pros

Great benefits, including paid time off. A lot of opportunity to work with different people across the world and across job roles. I was able to build on my skill set, from a jumior level to senior level.

Cons

US employees are not given the same opportunities and overall employment culture. When it comes to management, design, and engineering, it is not a work culture that truly embraces things like discoveries and focus on customer problems. There is a lot of emphasis put on new talent hiring, this is excellent for those early in their career, but there is little to no support for career growth for past mid-level.

Thank you for your review. We take pride in supporting and nurturing all our employees globally and we work hard to make Elsevier a great place to work. Also, we always make employees feel they have a stake in the success of our organization and that speaking up and addressing concerns is a collective responsibility. Regrettably, the issues you raised under cons were not brought to our attention when you were with us. However, we have shared your feedback with the right people within our organization as we feel discoveries and focus on our customer problems are some of our priority areas as a business. Again, thank you for your review.

Thank you for this balanced and thoughtful review. We're glad to hear that our benefits and investment in people are making a positive impact, those are commitments we take seriously. On the process feedback: Leadership is actively reviewing operational workflows, and the advice to listen more closely to employee feedback is something we're holding ourselves accountable to. If you're open to it, we'd encourage you to bring specific examples forward through your team or people and culture contacts. Change is most effective when it's grounded in the real experiences of the people doing the work, and that means you. Feel free to reach out to us at elseviergdrev@elsevier.com to provide more information Thank you for staying engaged and for caring enough to share this. It matters.

Pros

-Great company -Team has talented, experienced account managers and product experts who know the territory well

Cons

West team management is heavy on micromanagement and sets unrealistic territory targets without rep input — high turnover, and long tenure in company seems to shield this manager from accountability and growth
