Pros

+ Getting to work with the loveliest families and children every day. It's such a joy to be a part of their educational journey and see their confidence grow. + You get exposure to and have the opportunity to develop so many different skill- sets. Customer service, sales and marketing, data analysis, leadership and development, educational delivery, overall business growth (to name a few.) + The people you work with, there is not a single person in Explore that doesn't light up a room- everyone is so passionate about their role and committed to supporting their members. + You have autonomy over your own centre, you can be creative and lead your own exciting vision. + Lots of clarity over goals and what needs to be achieved. + The hours of work are necessary for this service and actually work well if you want to seperate from the regular 9- 5, having Mondays off is great!

Cons

- There is little opportunity to progress farther than the Centre Director role, which can be difficult if you are driven and motivated by progression. - Very little individual recognition for hard work. No rewards or incentives for meeting/ exceeding targets or running additional trainings for the company. - Culture has sadly gone downhill in recent years and is leaning more into corporate than family feel every day which is such a shame. - The cost of the service continues to climb while staff are stretched and often unable to deliver the service the price should reflect. - Lack of training opportunities for new managers reflects high staff turnover and an often overwhelming start. - SEN training is minimal so both managers and tutors feel very underconfident in supporting them effectively. - No more yearly awards events and very few socials and in person trainings so there is a real disconnect between centres and lack of opportunity to meet colleagues in person.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review - we really appreciate it. It’s fantastic to hear how much you enjoy working with the members at your centre, and that you find real joy in supporting their educational journey. We're also so pleased you’ve found the role to be full of variety and opportunities to build a broad skill set - that’s something we really value, and it's great to see it reflected in your experience. And of course, hearing such kind words about your colleagues and the autonomy you have in your centre really means a lot. We’re proud of the passionate and supportive team we have across Explore. We’re sorry to hear some of the concerns you’ve raised around recognition, progression, training, and the changes in culture. These are all really important points, and we understand how they can impact your day-to-day experience. Your suggestions around incentives and training are helpful and appreciated and it’s clear you care deeply about making Explore the best it can be, and we value that hugely. If you’d like to chat more about any of your feedback, we’d really encourage you to speak with your manager - or if you'd prefer, you can always reach out to peopleops@explorelearning.co.uk. Thank you again for everything you bring to your role and to Explore and we wish you all the best as you continue your career with us! The Explore Learning Team
