Pros
It's kind of hard to think of the positives, but I have to admit that out of college the salary relative to the hours worked is pretty decent. People are overall nice.
Cons
The environment in Structured Finance is pretty dismal. Moral is low and turnover is predictably high now that the covid freeze is mostly over. The work was mostly boring and slow, but then there were these regular bits of high stress frantic work periods that felt completely ridiculous. The people are nice, but it kind of ends there. The office conversation was always very small talk-y, rather than amicable. I think that the company views employees as fairly disposable and fully accepts that most junior employees are going to up and leave for a higher paying job within 2-3 years because while the starting salary is decent, it's completely outshined by what's being offered in other areas of the industry. It was a depressing time working here. The company is definitely stretching to increase profitability, and I don't see the culture having much of a chance to improve frankly.
