Pros

Strong brand, respected analysts and research. Solid financial performance YoY Comprehensive training programme for new hires Great perks for high performance

Cons

HK office like most other Gartner locations is basically a sales office. Therefore the majority of staff are sales. Despite the comprehensive training provided for new sales hires. Selling Gartner requires certain qualities and there is relentless focus from management on sales performance. Normally after 6 months, it is obvious whether the person will be successful or fail. The result is an unbelievable high turnover of staff. When new staff come in they are given the most risky accounts, this does not help the turnover rate either. Management lack experience in actual managing. Generally they promote or bring in high sales performers to become country managers, which is flawed as being good at sales does not automatically mean you can manage people and run an office. This is another contributor to why people leave.

Work life balance, though in late 2026 will be required to go back to office. Full autonomy for your own schedule.

Cons

Absolutely no path for growth.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
