Pros

Glassdoor is the best company I've ever been employed with and I hope to have a long career here. Some of my favorite pros are as follows: 1. Benefits: * This is inclusive of PTO, Maternity Leave, Transparency, Remote Work flexibility, etc. I honestly feel like we have some of the best benefits in the market right now and I am extremely happy to have them. 2. People: * They people who work at Glassdoor are quite literally some of the best people out there. I enjoy everyone I come in contact with and love what we each bring to the table. Management is also some of the best. My managers have helped my elevate my career, are very people oriented, and words can describe how happy I am to work with each of the leaders I've come in contact with. 3. Culture: * Glassdoor puts in the effort each and every day to make sure that every one feels that they belong. The effort is what truly makes a difference in having one of the best company cultures.

Cons

While Glassdoor is one of the best company's in my opinion, there are areas of improvement. 1. Career Track: *We do have a fantastic structure to help you understand what tools/skills are needed to get to the next level in your individual contributor role - which is fantastic. However, there isn't a clear track to move from IC to Management. For those of us that want to move into a leadership position it would be helpful to have something is place to guide us in that direction. Otherwise, how are we supposed to gain the skills needed for the position? 2. Pay: * While we do have a decent pay range, and a transparency chart to help us understand what to expect in each role, the compa-ratio structure is confusing and honestly a way I believe to keep you from earning more. I'd like to understand this better, to know how I can elevate my pay within my pay range. Other companies do have a higher pay in tech as well, so understanding this will help with retention in the future. 3. Transparency: * Our leadership does a great job and trying to keep all employees up to date with what is going on with the company. However, we were all aware of the economic state for some time now, and while measures were taken to prevent a layoff, it still felt as if that came out of no where. We were constantly given the news "it's the last resort", but can you let us know when we are about to reach that last resort? Otherwise you keep saying it for months and months and months and nothing happens, we feel as though it's still in "talks" but not happening. If we're going to be transparent, let's be fully transparent. 4. Indeed/GTM Partnerships * Working in GTM we work closely with Indeed, however, it feels like they have ALL of the control. While it's difficult enough as a CSM working with Sales Reps and getting them to understand we are NOT their assistants, now we have to fight harder to do our job because Indeed thinks we're their assistants as well. It tiring, and frustrating, and we feel like we get stepped on and looked over all the time so that Indeed and Sales can hit their numbers and our metrics don't matter. I'd like to have the space to have the relationship with my clients and really provide them with ROI, but it's a constant power struggle. We need to see BOTH Glassdoor and Indeed leadership come together on the same page.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and comprehensive review of your experience working here at Glassdoor. Authentic insights like this with both pros and cons help job seekers understand what it’s truly like to work at a company. I agree that our benefits, good people and culture, make our company a great place to work and appreciate you acknowledging the work we’ve done to live up to our values. I also appreciate your feedback on the areas for improvement. It is critical that leadership clearly communicates job level expectations, especially when moving into management positions, and we will continue to ensure these conversations take place. I agree we have an opportunity to ensure employees fully understand our compensation philosophy and this is something I’m focused on. I also know our compensation team would be happy to connect with you directly to answer any specific questions. Operating transparently isn’t always easy, but it’s fundamental for us to do as we advocate for transparency in every workplace, not just our own. I’m sorry to hear you felt we could have done better with the recent layoffs and it’s important to me that we continue to provide timely and transparent updates on our business. Lastly, I hear your feedback and frustration in working with Indeed. There seems to be some common themes and leadership at both companies are continuing to explore how we can improve our partnership to ensure that everyone’s needs and priorities are aligned. I really value your dedication to your role and desire to have a long career here at Glassdoor. We want you to have the support and resources you need to succeed, so thank you again for sharing this thoughtful feedback. -Christian Sutherland-Wong, CEO

Pros

The benefits and culture were probably the best I've ever had. Even better than the benefits were the people I worked with. I enjoyed coming into work and doing my job and really stood behind the company tag line of helping people find jobs they love.

Cons

During covid things started getting bad. Like many other companies layoffs came around and how the company handled those were terrible. You show up one day and next thing you know you lose access and cryptic email and then your'e gone. This happened again in 2025. They brought in person whose job it was to basically get people to leave. They didn't care about the content on the site, or any of the efforts in place to promote integrity and transparency and instead just wanted to shove AI down everyone's throat. What's sad is that Glassdoor was once a great company that I was proud to say I worked for. Now it's just like everywhere else, AI, AI, AI and trying to get people to quit before the next round of layoffs.
