Pros

Hays was a decent recruiting company. Their training program was thorough and extended over months/years. This is probably the best setup for someone new getting into recruitment.

Cons

Culture: Irate managers who are self-serving. Consultants fight over 'ownership' of candidates and this leads to division within teams and between teams. With the number of young consultants, it felt like an extension of the toxic environment that university parties are known for. Promotions can be discretionary (contrary to what's written in the 'contract to promote')

Pros

Great place for new recruiters to gain experience. A lot to learn. Younger crowd, fun teams.

Cons

Competitive, people that weren't succeeding would be put on PIPs and eventually let go. Can be some micro-managing. Not all managers created equal - some great, some not so great.
