Advice to Management

I have been working at Hays full-time (Less than a year)
Pros
The training you receive upon joining Hays is second to none. You have two fantastic weeks of training in London and exceptional mentoring from managers and directors who have been in the business a long time. The team I have joined is really friendly and make each day very enjoyable. Each day I get to meet more people and learn from experts in my industry. The opportunity for career development and progression is fantastic and means that your career is in your own hands and up to you to push and develop.
Cons
There are few cons but the hours are longer than other professions. There is a lot to learn at first so you need to be resilient but if you are willing to learn this is the place for you!
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you're doing!!
I have been working at Hays full-time (More than 8 years)
Pros
I've been with Hays for 8 years now and I can honestly say that this is by far the best company that I have worked for. It's an excellent working environment with a good mixture of people who are fun and equally motivating you to do the best you can. I've been given the opportunity to work in different markets and experience the variety of clients and candidates. Hays offers great career progression with the ability to relocate to other countries in the world and that's definitely something I might consider in the future.
Cons
The hours are long so it's hard to maintain a healthy work life balance, especially if you have children but other than that I can't fault Hays in any wa.

Advice to Management
Give junior members of the team the opportunity to structure their own days as per their knowledge of desk - every desk is different.
I have been working at Hays full-time
Pros

Cons
Occasional lack of funding for new staff
Pros
Good company to work for
Cons
Lack in communication and too much work load
I worked at Hays full-time (Less than a year)
Pros
I loved my job so much and the specialism i was working in, overall the team and office was full of great people
Cons
- Low starting salary - they need to keep up with the market and minimum wage!
- Really Long Hours, I did 8.15 til 6.30ish most nights..
- Working here made my anxiety/depression 10x worse than it has ever been, constantly stressed and paranoid and had to go back on medication.
- Very Corporate - I have worked in corporate environments but Hays is very very corporate, liked a friends post on linkedin (works at a competitor agency in a different sector) and was basically told to remove my like as i was making myself look bad....
- Probation was ended early despite making 300% effort. I went into this role fresh from uni with not alot of sales exp, plus was brought in to help expand into a new area so was really thrown in at the deep end. Was told after 4 months of working super hard (considering having no previous sales experience), bringing on 5/6 new clients and a large number of candidates.. that it wasn't working out and they were letting me go. Completely ruined my self-confidence and nearly quit recruitment entirely. But now im in a new recruitment role which has restored my faith in recruitment and massively boosted my confidence. Definitely a blessing in disguise!
