This isn't a company for everyone. Thoroughly think it through before you accept a position here. - Assistant Branch Manager Hertz Employee Review

Pros

I guess it's a good stepping stone towards your next job. They do teach you a lot of management and sales skills.

Cons

The hours are horrible. You are working from 7AM till 6PM or later sometimes. Forget your social life, once you start working here. The customers are extremely rude and don't seem to care about you at all. Renting and cleaning cars in the cold or extremely hot weather while dressed in a suit and tie. Management acts all nice to you but you know they are just putting up a front, they don't care. They just want you to work harder, sell more and think Hertz all and night.

Pros

Great place to work in tandem with other professionals in your trade, always had a feeling of "family" working alongside my peers. We come together when times are tough, this is very rewarding,

Cons

The current economic and geopolitical spectrum have been proving a challenge to this industry as a whole, thankfully we are a resilient outfit with the best people at the helm.

Pros

Some good, genuine people and good PTO

Cons

Working conditions: you are expected to know everything about the car rental industry and expected to be an expert on the programs that are used. If you make a mistake, you are criticized and everyone loses trust in you immediately, even if you did good work before. If there is a difference in two numbers that is a very small difference, it's treated as if you murdered their family. You are asked to do big tasks, then the finished project is never looked at after a week. You are also asked to do something that hasn't been done before and you run into the problem where you are either told that you are taking too long or that the numbers are wrong, so either way you are going to get criticized for something. There is clear favoritism within the company, another employee is allowed to make a much larger mistake and it is brushed aside and a very, very small mistake that is fixable in 2 seconds is considered a cardinal sin. Promotions are also seemed to be a popularity contest and how many people know you or how many clubs you're in rather than how good you are at your job. The people: it feels that a lot of the people that work at the company never left high school, or are on power trips. There is constant gossiping and people will talk behind each others backs and say bad things about them all the time. You are not allowed to make a comment or opinion on something without people giving you trouble for it. I have seen managers call people "retards" and other names. The amount of unprofessional language that I have heard in the workplace was unbelievable, where any other company would fire the employees that said the words immediately, but HR does nothing. The company is performing very poorly, and you can tell based on the behavior of the people. It feels that they have no souls and the only way to get dopamine is by being rude or disrespectful.
