      Pros

      1. Good exposure for people who wants to learn new, different things 2. Remuneration is good compared to commercial firms 3. Fast progression 4. Brand name 5. Friendly colleagues who are always willing to help

      Cons

      1. Promotion and salary can be unfair. You may be earning lesser or have a lower position compared to those who are faring worse than you. 2. Differential treatment between those pursuing private degrees, professional certifications and those taking SQP. 3. Management does not value their staff especially those of lower ranks. 4. Empty promises from management.

      Pros

      It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

      Cons

      Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
