I worked at KPMG full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work life balance, Great good access, Easy annual leave on short notice

    Cons

Where do I start! So pay is rubbish and generally low in comparison to the market and competitors. Rubbish bonus and at times none! Mircomanagement- you are expected to be in back to back meetings and then clear your inbox by the end of the day. People are very clickly and if they don’t like you they will have you out whether you do your job by the book or not! Hard to get career progression due to the clickly nature. People are very fake and behave to be your “friend” when they really are out for some gossip!!

    Pros

Support for qualifications, exposure to different areas of tax, flexible working arrangements.

    Cons

Bureaucratic in terms of progression (knowing the right people), and under-resourced so end up working a lot of overtime (with no recognition) on jobs that are below your grade.
