    Positive Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

I have been working at KPMG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Plenty of opportunities for progression, interesting people to work with. Management invest their time in those more junior in the firm. Good perks that would be expected with a big organisation such as wellbeing/socials etc

    Cons

The biggest con is the money. Far better paid jobs to be had after university - even after qualifying it’s not great. That’s why people tend to leave

    Advice to Management

Start paying your staff what they deserve and allow for progression! You are losing too many good people

    Neutral Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

I have been working at KPMG full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Career Opportunities - High level of autonomy - Salary - Benefits

    Cons

    - Lack of coherant strategy - Poor internal IT platforms - Opaque structure driving poor firm performance

    Advice to Management

One firm mentality needs to be prioritised at top level, with clear incentives and sanctions in place. Internal IT (particularly communications) and policies need to be prioritised for improvement.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at KPMG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

KPMG can offer a wealth of opportunities and development options. Employees are extremely helpful and friendly, making networking easy and fun. As a graduate it is relatively easy to explore other options, as long as commitment and interest was displayed in one's current work.

    Cons

Opportunities aren't just given out - so hard work, loads of communications and pro-activity is needed to obtain them. Especially when looking into other teams, it can get very political. There are no fast promotions in the graduate scheme, so it can feel like people are locked in. Benefits for junior staff, especially pension, are under average in comparison to other firms.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the flat hierarchies and continue working on making leadership more approachable. Give graduates more opportunities to prove themselves and further promote connected consulting.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at KPMG full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

I started straight out of university into KPMG and went through the chartered accounting training with them. They provide a lot of support and you develop a real level of professionalism. You also meet some great people along the way who generally have great work ethic and are bright. Overall I had a brilliant experience at KPMG and was there for 8 year. I managed to move around departments and go on a secondment so... definitely made the most of what the firm could offer.

    Cons

There are some poor partner behaviours and they seem to get away with quite a lot although this is changing. The more senior you get, the more exposed you get to the bureaucracy of the place. If you work client facing, the hours can be pretty bad so are unsustainable.
