Meaningful projects. Good science community environment. Good work life balance.

Company's primary focus is still on ride-sharing business so stock price does not go up.

Academic environment that has a lot of interesting science problems from mapping, optimization, plus all the usual user metrics. Rewarding and complex problems that often have a lo t of tradeoff.

For how good the ICs are, leadership is equally bad. Just riddled with poor decisions top/down. Also given the current state, Uber is just too strong of a competitor and you feel that pressure every day.
